Established as a brewery in 1998 and renamed in 2009, Gidley’s Brewery is now for sale through licensed property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter.

Gidley’s Brewery has built up a growing reputation and comprises a bespoke 4 barrel brewery plant with 3 quality recipes, it produces 30 casks a week, depending on demand, but is capable of producing up to 60 casks if required.

Having previously won a number of CAMRA awards as pub landlords the owners have carried on their love of ales and have now established a strong customer base throughout the South West, supplying pubs, private parties and offering a home consumption “beer in a box”.

At present the brewery operates 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, of which three days are full time, with one single working proprietor. The scope with the business is to build on the established trade and to improve the marketing and advertising as at present there is little or no marketing, advertising or telesales.

Gidley’s Brewery occupies a purpose equipped industrial unit on the outskirts of Christow, in the Teign Valley, and within the Dartmoor National park. It briefly provides a ground floor sales area, cask conditioning room, 2 fermenting rooms, a copper room and a kitchen area. The first floor provides a mash area, 2 offices and storage facilities.

Outside to the front there is a parking zone for 3-4 cars and to the side an enclosed yard that is used for cleaning and storage.

The sale includes all the appropriate brewing equipment and a handover and training are also available, if necessary.
